Technical Proposal for Housing Units to
be constructed by ICC to Re-House Tsunami Victims.
ICC has been in the forefront in the housing sector development, having constructed many housing schemes all over Sri Lanka, catering to a wide spectrum of society, both rural and urban.
ICC has its own pre-cast yard, concrete
batching plant, asphalt plant, in-house design team to support
the capable will managed construction project teams.
The housing units to be supplied by ICC
as per design developed by them would consist of kit form
houses.
The ‘KIT FORM’ form houses having an area of 438 sq. ft. and shall include a living/dining area, one bedroom, kitchen, toilet and verandah.
The pre-cast components will be brought in knocked down form from ICC's yard, and will be easily erected by four (4) workmen within 4 to 5 days. The internal layout can be changed according to the requirements of the end user.
Other features of the housing project are:
- The Sewage and Waste Water will be disposed by means of an individual septic tank with a soakage pit
- Solid and kitchen waste will be collected on a daily basis by the local Municipal Council.
- Water – town supplied.
- Roads for vehicular traffic.
- A Community Centre with a recreation area and playground
- No external or internal boundary wall, but boundaries would be demarcated.

Land
Requirement and Kit Form Housing
The land for the project has been made available through the
good offices of the Matara City Renewal Action Program (McRAP).
The land allotted is called Kambikoratuwawatte in extent 3 acres
11 perches located in the Weligama area. Arrangements have been
made for the survey of this land.

Arrangement with NDB Investment Bank for donations
received for housing units to be supplied by ICC
- All funds contributed by the donors for this project, shall be
deposited in two special accounts opened at the NDB Bank at
Dharmapala Mawatha, Colombo 02.
- NDB Investment Bank shall act as the fund Manager and will
ensure that the release of funds is in line with the progress
of construction.
- Disbursement of funds from the account, shall be made
on subject to the request of ICC with the certification of a
reputed licensed Quantity Surveyor.
- NDB Investment Bank shall issue a monthly Account Statement,
giving details of the fund flow.
